Brisbane Record Bar is a small team of people with different skillsets, each contributing towards our company’s goal of having our own premises as a bar & live music venue, while selling records at weekend markets in the meantime.
We have plans to bring our records to more markets, especially over the upcoming Christmas period. Around the same time, our team’s availability is changing, and we are looking for another person to assist us in selling records at our market days. At first, we will have about 3-4 hours of weekend work available, and there will be room to grow as the business expands.
Duties will include:
- Being a friendly customer service representative who can sell and speak to customers about vinyl records.
- Setting up and/or packing down of merchandise and equipment
- Social media promotion
Our market days are usually on Saturdays. Trading starts, depending on which location, anytime from 6-10am and finishing anytime from 1-4pm. Approximately 30 mins before and after the markets is our set-up and pack-down time.
The main reason for needing a second person at the markets is for quicker loading/unloading and so there is someone to monitor the stall while one person goes on break. Depending on your preference, you can either start in the morning to help set up and leave around lunchtime or start around noon and help pack up at the end.
Friday evening and Sunday daytime markets have been planned and there will also be work available at these times during late 2022 or early 2023. There is also a bar and music venue planned to open during 2023. Although RSA and hospitality experience is not necessary for this position, it will be useful when the business gets to this point.
